Parents, Students, Families     Teachers, Staff, Administrators     Business, Community and Sponsors

Regardless of your role or how you join, we welcome you to join a PTA/PTSA in the Plano Independent School District in an effort to support our shared goal. The Plano I.S.D. Council of PTAs aligns it's core mission and values with those of both the Texas PTA and the National PTA organizations. The PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Why Join?

The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit a student directly, whether it is your child, or a student that is related to you that attends a P.I.S.D. school.
In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA advantages:

Get Connected - There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

Discover Great Resources - The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

Tap into a Network - PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

Watch Yourself Grow - By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

Speak Up - PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Witness Improvement - By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.

Be a Role Model - By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Enjoy Substantial Benefits - Individuals and local units can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA membership including discounts and offers from member benefits providers and sponsors, magazine subscriptions, leadership training, e-newsletters and much more.

For less than 3 cents a day, you can become a PTA member, joining more than 4 million other people who share your interest in issues affecting children. Everyone—parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities—is invited to join our not-for-profit parent association.

Why Join?

Harnessing the Power of Volunteers

Shrinking budgets. Increasing class sizes. Government mandates. The challenges of delivering quality education are daunting. There is help. It’s the PTA.

PTAs Benefit Everyone

PTA addresses issues that are important to parents and public school administrators. We fight for full funding, quality teachers, and capabilities for schools to thrive. Membership is open to everyone. Your PTA is autonomous but supported by a national structure.

Staff Membership is a powerful example to set for Parents

Not only is full staff membership in the PTA rewarded with the Golden Apple Award, it is a convincing and powerful message to send to the parents and families of your school that the staff is fully committed not only to the students of the school, but to the inclusion of the family members of those students as part of the educational process.

Business, PartnersCommunity and Sponsors

Why Join?

Our Community Members and Sponsors make an annual investment in PTA which helps power key programs and services.  With 28,000 local members representing more than 55,000 students across 100 square miles there's no better way to be a part of our Plano ISD community.

Community Membership

A Community Membership generally means an individual joining a specific local PTA*, or a collection of local PTAs, on a campus where they do not currently have a student enrolled and are not currently employed. Collections of PTAs can be supported by feeder pattern (senior high school and all feeder schools, or elementary school and all associated schools) or by city.

There are two different ways the Plano ISD Council of PTAs invite businesses to become Community Members, either through a Community Member collection or as a Community Connection Sponsor. With either choice, your business demonstrates its commitment to improving the life and education of every child enrolled in Plano ISD and plays a vital role in supporting the work PTA does for children.

More information about Community Membership

*Some local PTAs may have their own specific benefits regarding a Community Membership that may be separate from or concurrent to the possible benefits stated by the PISD Council of PTAs.

Community Connection Sponsorship

Sponsorship opportunities are meant to provide mutual benefit to the Plano ISD Council of PTAs and the Sponsor whose business offers programs, goods or services for youth and their families. In addition to the financial commitment a Sponsor makes, we encourage your involvement in the local public schools and your community.

There are varying levels of sponsorship that allow for different levels of benefit for the sponsor, including community membership in multiple PTAs.
