History of Plano ISD Council of PTAs
Founded in 1988
On October 4, 1988, representatives from 15 local PTA units in Plano ISD met and voted unanimously to form Plano ISD Council of PTAs. A bylaws committee was elected to begin work on the Council Bylaws. A nominating committee was elected to begin work on a slate of officers.
On October 24, 1988, Plano ISD Council of PTAs met to approve the bylaws and to elect officers to serve the remainder of the school year. Those elected officers were:
- President: Donna Pittenger
- 1st VP: Sue Rackers
- 2nd VP: Sue Zimmerman
- 3rd VP: Kathy Lindholm
- Secretary: Karen Standlee
- Treasurer: Eve Heaney
