School finance is sure to be an important topic in the upcoming legislative session, so this is a good time to learn how it works and become aware of possible changes. The public is welcome to attend a free informational forum on Thursday, November 15, 6:30-8:30, at Haggard Library in Plano. This event is hosted by the PISD Council of PTAs and the League of Women Voters of Collin County.

The Texas PTA legislative priorities are now available. Topics include health and safety, state assessments, public education funding, A to F accountability, and more. Here is the complete list of TX PTA Legislative Priorities.

Join the PISD PTA at Rally Day on Monday, February 25, to advocate for children! There will be legislative topic sessions, a rally on the capitol steps, and meetings with legislators. If you are interested in participating in a day trip carpool to Austin, please send email to legislative@planopta.org by November 30.

Everyone is invited to attend the next Plano ISD Council of PTAs delegate meeting on Tuesday, November 27, at 10:00 at the Plano ISD Sockwell Center, 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd, Plano 75093.
